MoMISC Staff & Board

Lori Buchanan
MoMISC Coordinator
Lori Buchanan has been working with MoMISC as the coordinator for over 20 years. Throughout the years, she has helped identify and control many different invasive species, dedicating her time and knowledge to protecting our island. Her continued commitment plays an important role in helping to mālama Molokaʻi and preserve it for our keiki.

Mapuana Dudoit
MoMISC Outreach
I started in conservation work with The Nature Conservancy through Ho‘ikaika, then with AmeriCorps as part of the field crew. After that, I worked with MoMISC in outreach, helping to spread awareness about invasive species and how they can impact our island. After being away for some time, I’m blessed to come back to this work and be part of keeping our community informed and our ʻāina protected. It’s important that we all do our part to mālama Molokaʻi for our future generations.

Aloha Kakou,
My name is Kawehi Soares and I’m currently a Field Associate II with the Molokai/Maui Invasive Species Committee (MoMISC) since June 2014. Born and raised on the island of Molokai I’ve been involved with countless monitoring, protection & removal efforts throughout my career. Joining MoMISC has expanded my knowledge on the potential impacts invasive pests will have on our islands but also how to properly manage them correctly. It’s my duty and an honor to continue to serve my Molokai community to the fullest of my abilities.
