Molokai/Maui Invasive Species Committee (MoMISC) is a subcommittee of the Maui Invasive Species Committee (MISC). We are a project of the Pacific Cooperative Studies Unit (PCSU), under the auspices of the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH). We work in partnership with private, government, and non-profit organizations to prevent and control invasive species from becoming established or widespread on Molokai.
MoMISC targets invasive pest species that threaten native ecosystems, agriculture, industry, human health and/or the quality of life on Molokai. We measure progress in terms of pest infestations prevented, contained or eradicated. We are not a regulatory or enforcement entity, but look for solutions to control invasive pests within the framework of government laws.
As a subcommittee of MISC, we continually collaborate on issues such as setting pest prevention priorities, measuring progress, and funding.
